Southern Breakfast Cassarole

Oh my goodness this one takes the cake. Here in the south its GO BIG OR GO HOME! Well I did it big today. Sausage Gravy Breakfast Casserole. It was quite yummy!

Supplies Needed
1 can of biscuits
1 lb sausage
9 eggs
1 cup of milk
1 package sausage gravy
salt & pepper

Preheat Over to 350. Grease a muffin tin and a small glass casserole dish.
Take the biscuits out and cut into 1 inch pieces. I put 2-3 pieces per muffin tins. Then I put the remainder in the casserole dish.

Brown the sausage, drain then add to the muffin tins. Add the remaining sausage to the casserole dish.

I am putting them in both the muffin tins and dish just because I wasn't sure about the gravy on the casserole so I wanted to try it both ways with and without gravy. Also, I thought if I put them in the muffin tins I could put them in a Tupperware container and in the mornings just heat them up before the kids go to school and its an instant meal! Mama is going to the Falcons game tonight at 8:30pm so early morning bus for the kids I will have 1 eye open and need something fast! :-)

Back to the meal. After you have the biscuits and sausage in the containers add cheese to each tin and then the dish. I just did it where it covered all the sausage. Then mix eggs and milk in a bowl. Pour over each muffin tin then over casserole dish. I do the muffin tins 1st so I make sure I have enough. Then prepare the gravy like it says on the package.  I poured the gravy over 1/2 everything just so we could try it out and nothing got ruined if we didn't like it.
Bake for 30 minutes.

As you can see it didn't come out pretty but it tasted amazing. It was good we didn't have the gravy over all of it because its yummy but too much if you ate it with everything. Everyone loved it at my house. I ate a small piece then ran it off at the gym. :-) The muffins came out perfect without sticking to the pan and are in a Tupperware waiting to be eaten the next few mornings!

Yum Yum! I hope you enjoy!

Holiday Decorative Jars

#HolidayJars
For the longest time I have seen this on pinterest so I finally gave it a try. When purchasing your supplies not Hobby Lobby has sales every other week. So if jars aren't on sale when you go they will be the next week. I had to get my jars at Hobby Lobby but my wood items from Michael's because Hobby Lobby stopped selling them once I finally decided to do the craft.

Supplies you need
3 glass jars (reg. price $4.99 at HL)
3 candle sticks
6 flat wood pieces
3 small dowel toppers
1 can of Rust-oleum Paint and Primer in One
Gorilla Glue
3 Letters
I bought 3 different sizes of jars, but you could buy them all the same. Its your preference on what look you are going for. Im a non visual person so I have to go with my gut. At Michaels I got 6 of the flat wood pieces and 3 candles sticks. (ignore the small ones they were purchased by mistake) As you can see in the pictures there is a gold top to the candles sticks. You will want to remove it so its flat on top.
Though this little guy is the toughest, hardest hitting defensive tackle on his football team- he loves to do craft things with me. We layed out all the pieces on a old sheet and sprayed them. The pain and primer in one is the most amazing invention ever. Im a instant gratification person so I don't like to put too much work in. haha. It didn't take long for it to dry.

To assemble. 1 flat piece on the bottom and glue a candle stick to it. Let it fully dry before moving to the next step. While wait on that to dry I glued a flat piece to the bottom of the jar. and the small dowel to the jar top. Once everything is dry. Glue the candle stick to the flat piece that is now the bottom of the jar. If you try to do everything at one time it wont dry right because it will be too heavy.

Tie the letters to each jar.
In this pictures I didn't finish adding my ribbon. Another great trick. When filling the jars with candy, put a paper towel or toilet paper roll in the middle so the candy fills up around it and it saves you not having to buy so much candy.

For Christmas I will do JOY and for the 4th of July I will do USA. I will post when I add new holidays on what candy and saying I will put on them.

This was a fun project and I will enjoy changing it out each month.

Pumkin Burlap

I was feeling so CRAFTY last week after I did my football I decided to make a pumpkin. This one went so much easier after I made the football, because I knew what I was doing. The football hangs on my pantry door in the house, but the pumpkin is on my front door. Remember when you are stuffing the burlap the reason to use grocery store bags instead of anything else is so it doesn't mold if it gets wet from being outside. If the burlap will stay in the house you can use another stuffer.

Supplies
Orange Burlap
Brown, green & white acrylic paint
Black thick sharpie
Black ribbon
Chalk

To start layout your burlap double sided. Trace your pumpkin how you want. I saw a cute wooded sign so I was looking at it and thats how I came up with my shape. Make sure if you want a stem and leaf on yours to trace that on the top but its all one piece. Once youve traced it how you want. Cut it out. You should have 2 identical pumpkins. Lay one to the side. I went ahead and traced my Happy Fall Yall on the pumpkin so I knew I had room for the polka dots. You can do it either way. Some people are more OCD then me and may want some type of order to their dots. I also traced the stem and leaf.
I started with the stem and painted it brown. Then I painted the leaf. It took a lot of paint and felt heavy up top. Then paint your dots. Once everything was dry I then wrote with a huge fat sharpie my saying. You could use paint but I knew I felt more comfortable in my saying looking cute if I used a sharpie. Again if you have the talent go for it!
When everything is all done. Start gluing from the bottom. Leave a space at the top. Glue the ribbon on the inside of the left and right so that it can hang on a door. Once ribbon is on and the pumpkin if fully stuffed go ahead and glue the whole pumpkin shut.

Football Burlap Door Hanger

As I said in my 1st post I love football. I love anything Mill Creek (my sons team) University of Georgia and Atlanta Falcons. For a girl I am a die hard fan. I love it. I pace back and forth between plays. Ugh its exhausting. My oldest brother and I text during the game. You would think I was a boy. I have only 3 brothers so I suppose thats what happens. But Im pretty girly as well.
As I saw this item on Pinterest I thought I would give it a try. But of course I changed it a little as some of the people have way too much talent. :-)

Supplies I used
1 yard of brown Burlap
White acrylic paint
Red "Puff" Paint
Chalk
Iron & starch
Black ribbon
Hot glue gun
Cardboard
Grocery Store plastic Bags

Layout your burlap double like fabric where when you cut you will have 2 individual pieces. With the chalk outline the shape of a football. I had my husband who is very detailed and perfectionist unlike me come help me to make sure each side was the same. He had the idea to draw one side and fold it longways so you made one cut but each side were the same. You can decide which way you want to do it. you will have 2 pieces of burlap footballs.
Layout one of the footballs on the cardboard. I then took the chalk again and traced laces on the top of the football and the sides. I wish I would have known last week I was doing a blog and I could give you examples of what I did. :-)
Take the white paint and paint the white spots on the sides of the football and the laces. I then took red puff paint and wrote RISE UP on my football because I'm a die hard Falcons Fan. You can write anything here in any team colors. I saw someone on Pinterest trace an Arkansas hog on there but I know my limits on talent with paint!
After it completely dries, which is a couple hours, start at the bottom and hot glue the 2 footballs together. Leave the top open. Once its glued together as a 3-D football, start stuffing it with grocery store bags. I used the brown ones so it wouldn't show through.
I then cut some black ribbon. Cut it as long as you want, I cut mine about 12 inches long. Glue one side to the left open top front, but inside the football. Glue the other side of the ribbon to the right open top front. As the ribbon is glued and football is stuffed you can completely glue the football closed.
You have a Burlap Football!

What to expect

Wow. I'm really doing this. I have always in the back of my mind thought I would enjoy a blog. Its like Twitter but with more characters.
Here is a little bit about me. I am a stay at home mom with a 8 & 11 year old son . Here is a picture of me and my husband of 14 years. He works hard so I don't have to. haha.

Though I don't seem to be "stay at home" much. Between the boys activities, my 2 hour workout in the gym ( you want me to be sane with 2 boys right! ha) and running to Hobby Lobby etc, I'm not home much. I do seem to still get at least 2- 4 loads of laundry done a day. I wish I could say my house is in perfect shape and dinner is on the table the second my husband comes home but um.. no. The house is picked up, homework is done and we are off to football/swim/golf 3 nights a week. So we eat a lot of casseroles and crock pot meals. My husband grew up with Joan Cleaver (well Joan Childs ha) so its hard to measure up, so I don't try..

What you can expect from this blog. I talk a lot so I'm sure I will have days where I just come and say something. But I want to post meals and crafts I actually tried from Pinterest and liked. Like I said my husband grew up where his mom cooked 3 hot meals a day so he is a meat and potato guy. Hes a southern boy who likes a salad with ranch, 2 side items and a meat for dinner. Well between sports and such you get what you get and you don't pitch a fit!

So after all that rambling if you still are interested in my blog I thank you! :-)
